TAPSILOG
Sinangag is a testament to our Filipino ingenuity when it comes to reducing waste and maximizing utility. It’s leftover rice that’s kneaded by hand to break apart any clumps prior to being fried in a wok with a bit of oil, rock salt, and a lot of garlic. Cold, day-old rice is preferred to anything freshly cooked since the former has a drier, somewhat hardier texture that stands up to the high cooking temperature better. The itlogportion is as simple as it gets: a farm-fresh chicken egg fried to the desired degree of doneness, sunny side-up style.
A plate of tapsilog is a delightful study in taste and texture. You get the rich, buttery silkiness of the egg, the herbed, aromatic grains of the fried rice, and the savory, lip-smacking meatiness of the tapa in one delicious dish.
Papsilog, located at magsaysay road,is rumoured to be selling a tapsilog at an affordable price so Lexie Macayan and I decided to try it out and make a review about their store.
This is their store, it is wide open giving you the view of the driveway. Their store is small but it is cute with a homey ambiance. It might be located on the side of the road but we assure you that it is relaxing. Eating at Papsilog feels like eating breakfast at home using your bare hands
Sample Menu
We ordered our food, Lexie ordered Tosilog, a combination of tocino, sinangag at itlog while I ordered chicsilog (chicken, sinangag at itlog). Their menu ranging from 70-100 pesos, are very affordable, specially for students like us.
Their meal comes with a delicious unlimited buttered rice and a creamy hot soup that would make you want for more.
All in all, we suggest this place if you are looking for an affordable but delicious meals that would remind you of home and would give you tranquility.
